I am naturally entrepreneurial and enjoy problem solving. Over time, while my interest in computer intelligence and technology has been maintained I have spent more of my energy working with people and serving in roles as the CEO. I am now not sure if I am a people person who knows technology or a techy person who works well with people.
While CEO of the Water Industry Alliance I gained skills in working with Ministers and Government as well as the private sector. This time also broadened my knowledge of the issues facing the water industry both nationally and internationally and also helped me make a strong global network of professionals.
I am a generalist that can quickly learn most things and my career path as a water engineer developing artificial intelligence for water modelling, and then progressing into project management, sales, business development and ultimately CEO of the WIA is testament to this versatility.
